Rhinoplasty Case 3

This patient came to see me after having a rhinoplasty many years ago. Since that time she has had progressive nasal obstruction and collapse of the nose. Because of the previous operation, much of her cartilage had been removed. She was having difficulty with day-to-day tasks because of the nasal obstruction and by the time we met she was extremely frustrated and how much her nasal obstruction was affecting her life. Due to the limited amount of cartilage available and severe collapse of her nose, we decided to harvest a piece of her rib cartilage which was used to reconstruct the nose and improve her breathing. Adding the rib graft allowed Dr. Barker to improve the contour of her nose and eliminate her collapsing nasal valve. By 1 month after surgery, she has healed well and can breathe so much better! The view of the bottom of her nose shows the degree of collapse that she had prior to surgery and how much this improved after surgery.
